Mansory Unveils ‘Soft Kit’ for Ferrari F8 Spider: A Controversial Transformation

Mansory, known for their audacious automotive creations, has taken the stage once again with a new offering that’s sure to turn heads. This time, they’ve set their sights on the Ferrari F8 Spider, and the results are nothing short of controversial. While they may have been quiet on social media recently, their latest project screams loudly in terms of design and modifications.

In stark contrast to the iconic Ferrari elegance, the Mansory-fettled F8 Spider is presented in a bold white hue adorned with black accents and sporadic dashes of red. The color scheme isn’t inherently displeasing, but it’s the myriad of add-ons that cause a visual clash.

Mansory has employed forged carbon extensively throughout the vehicle’s exterior. From the front air intakes to the side blades, attachments above the headlights, and even the hood, the forged carbon look is all-encompassing. The side mirrors, side skirt attachments, rear wing, and the diffuser housing an F1-like brake light also boast this distinctive finish. Even the wheels have been replaced, featuring a red caliper accent that complements the sporadic red touches.

Surprisingly, the interior takes a back seat in Mansory’s presentation, suggesting limited modifications in this area. A glimpse inside reveals a predominantly black cabin with sporadic red accents, noticeable on the seatbelts and what appears to be an Italian flag-inspired 12 o’clock marker on the steering wheel. The headrests bear Mansory’s signature, and while their logo’s placement in other areas remains speculative, it’s safe to assume their branding appears in strategic locations.

Beyond the aesthetic upgrades, Mansory has bestowed the F8 Spider with what they dub a “soft kit,” which includes power enhancements. The Italian stallion’s output has been boosted to a remarkable 880 PS (868 hp/647 kW), with torque reaching an impressive 960 Nm (708 lb-ft). This newfound power propels the F8 Spider to 100 km/h (62 mph) in a mere 2.6 seconds.

How does this fare against the stock variant, you ask? Mansory claims a three-tenths of a second improvement over the factory time, which stands at 2.9 seconds for the standard F8 Spider. The top speed remains at 340 km/h (211 mph), courtesy of the twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 engine generating 720 PS (710 hp/530 kW) and 770 Nm (568 lb-ft) of torque.

The question of whether this audacious F8 Spider is a bespoke commission or destined for the market remains unanswered. Mansory’s silence on the matter fuels speculation, but given their clientele and penchant for flamboyance, it wouldn’t be surprising if this open-top masterpiece found its way into the hands of an affluent collector.
