The Barbus 800 is another car added to the list of supercars. It has an interesting and exclusively high performance on and off the road; facts show that it has this performance because it was built on the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 SS 4MATIC+ platform. This wonderful model has some amazing characteristics. Continue reading.
Characteristics
- The Bold Exterior
With the way the Barbus 800 is built and the performance of its engine, it is a good off-roader.
It has an amazing captivating look. It gives off a sporty feeling with its hi-tech forged wheels, which feature a unique yet unusual combination of 21 inches and 22 inches diameter rims for the front and rear axle. This was done to emphasize the wedge shape of the front door coupe. This was made possible by the naked carbon aerodynamic-enhancement parts.
For the Monaco event, the four tailpipes of the Brabus Show car, which were embellished with titanium, were painted black. This way, they match the body of the Brabus.
A carbon diffuser insert was placed for the rear fascia. This diffuser perfectly frames the four tailpipes of the exhaust. In 2019, the Brabus 800 released a new Edition called the platinum Edition’. This Edition uses wheels that were manufactured using a hi-tech forging process. Lightweight construction was combined with maximum strength. This is the reason why the new Edition was called the Platinum Edition.
Brabus didn’t do this alone. They engaged their technology partners; Yokohama, Pirelli, and Continental. These partners supplied the optimal tires that were needed. The dimensions of the rims and tires are thus; front axle attribute 10.5J by 21 wheels with 275/35 ZR 21 as the size of the tires. While the rear axle features 12J by 22 forged wheels with tires the size of 335.24 ZR 22. The tires of the Brabus, as said earlier, are high performing
2. The Beautiful Interior
Like the exterior, the interior of the Brabus 800 is exclusively refined.
The upholstery shop of the company transforms the prettiest leather and Alcantara into beautiful interiors. These beauties satisfy the demands of their customers. The color of the upholstery design depends on the customer’s request. It speaks not just of beauty but class too.
Also added to the interior of this model are the stainless-steel scuff plates. These plates are backlit with the Brabus logo that lights up in colors to match the ambient interior lighting.
The seats of the Brabus 800 are covered with finely perforated leather (of whatever color chosen) and highlighted with elements of white leather. Its seats about six to seven people comfortably.
The lateral support is optimized by the Alcantara inserted in the seat side bolsters to promote the sporting driving style.
3. Amazing Aerodynamics
High demands were placed on the aerodynamics of the Barbus 800. The components were fine-tuned to be more stable during high speed, and the wind tunnel was optimized. It is safe again to say that the designers of the aerodynamic components were very skillful and developed them with attractive naked carbon. In the bumper, the face of the GT was given an even more powerful look with the Barbus front fascia and front spoiler attachments for the large air intakes.
4. Intriguing Engine and Power
The engine that runs this model is a 4.0 twin-turbocharged V8 engine.
This engine produces a power that aids its excellent performance of 588kW per 800 PS. A nine-speed automatic transmission is what transmits the torque power of 1000 Nm. Very incredible and remarkable! This power can be shifted either automatically or manually through this transmission. In addition to the engine, more like support to it, the Brabus 800 has a quad stainless-steel exhaust system. This system has valves that are actively controlled to perfect the power delivery by reducing the backpressure of the exhaust and ensuring proper acoustics.
5. The Wild Performance
You can keep your expectations high because this vehicle has high performance from its engine.
This model takes only 2.9 seconds to reach a whopping 100km/h, which is 62mph! Its top speed, however, is limited electronically to 315km/h, which is 196mph. This still looks good. The Barbus 800’s engine produces eight hundred horsepower(800hp) and high torque of 1000 Nm. This is quite intriguing, even though it’s expected. The total power given off by this model is about 588 KW. Consuming quite a large amount of fuel, the details of its fuel economy are thus; 15.21/100km in the city, 8.9/100km on the highway, and a value of 11.31/100km when combined. One important feature of the Barbus 800 is its sound management. It can switch between a minute drive in the ‘Coming Home’ mode and a noisy V8 engine sound in the ‘Sporty’ mode. All that is required is the touch of a button. The amount of carbon dioxide gas released to aid this high performance is 257g/km.
Pricing
The RRP for this model begins at $440 000. In contrast, the Adventure XLP is over six hundred thousand dollars, which is more powerful and heightened than the original Mercedes AMG 63.
