Porsche Cayenne 2022

Porsche Cayenne 2022 stands out as a luxury midsize SUV with a sporty personality. It is one of the most enjoyable and simple-to-drive models, and it generously backs up its class with a remarkable interior and an abundance of customization options. It is third-generation and exceptional on many levels.

The Porsche Cayenne 2022 will be available in May 2022. The Base, Platinum Edition, E-Hybrid, E-Hybrid Platinum Edition, S, S Platinum Edition, GTS, Turbo, and Turbo S E-Hybrid are the nine trim levels available. Every model includes an eight-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel drive, an impressive interior, and, as previously stated, several options for customization.

The Platinum Edition trim debuted on the Porsche Panamera and adds a few more features and styling flourishes to a few Cayenne trims.

Features

The Porsche Cayenne’s secret sauce combines athletic and confident handling, resulting in a firm and relaxing luxury ride. The PASM/air suspension combination provides a firm but comfortable ride, a Porsche trademark.

The standard seats are comfortable over long distances for many body types, although drivers pushing it through corners may require additional lateral bolstering. Also, some exterior noise gets in, but smaller-diameter tires and optional noise-insulated glass help to reduce it.

In comparison to many competitors, it also has usable interior storage. With the rear seats split 40/20/40, there are approximately 60.3 cubic feet of cargo storage. You’ll also be able to easily accommodate child seats, owing to the easily accessible Isofix anchors. When properly equipped, the Cayenne can tow over 7,000 pounds if your toys are the kind you carry around.

It has safety features such as Night Vision Assist, which assists drivers in navigating dark roads using a thermal imaging camera, and Pedestrian Protection, which detects pedestrians and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision.

It features InnoDrive, which helps the driver to navigate unfamiliar roads using topography, GPS-based navigation, road sign, and speed limit information. It also has front and rear parking sensors and fantastic forward collision mitigation, which signals you of any impending collision and applies the brakes in certain scenarios.

Interior

The 2022 Porsche Cayenne has a wide range of available driving positions and spacious quarters, making the Cayenne feel like either a good sports car or a more traditional SUV. Despite having five seats as the smaller Macan, the longer wheelbase provides plenty of space for all passengers. It’s also undeniably simple to get in and out of it.

The cockpit controls exude quality, with knurled dials and rocker switches. Although some are awkwardly and tightly placed in front of the gear selector, which is unnecessary, as most are located on the steering wheel. It has four power windows with one touch, remote keyless power door locks, and heated mirrors.

The centerpiece of the infotainment system is a large 12.4-inch touchscreen. It highlights one of the best interfaces in the class, which is simple and intuitive to use, and highly configurable. However, it is recommended that microfiber towels be kept on hand because the screen smudges easily. There is also a Navigation System, wireless Apple CarPlay, four USB-C ports, wired Android Auto smartphone integration, partial leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable front seats, ambient lighting, a 10-speaker sound system, and the vehicle’s signature Power lift gate.

Exterior

The Porsche Cayenne’s exterior has advanced over time to become a very elegant body with proportionate styling, even though the original model was somewhat less appealing. On the base model, this new one comes with LED headlights and taillights, sturdy 19-inch wheels, and dual exhaust exits.

The mid-level S trim includes a panoramic sunroof and quad exhaust tips topped and finished in silver, while the top GTS trim consists of a slew of satin black and gloss accents, including the badges and exhaust tips. This model also includes clear taillights and a Sport-Design body kit.

While standard 21-inch wheels hint at its sporty nature, the Acid Green brake calipers, E-Hybrid model, and badge accents are the only differences between it and the base model. Platinum Edition models receive model-specific exterior elements in Satin Platinum, which include the rear Porsche logo integrated into the LED taillights, intakes in the front fascia, the rear Porsche logo incorporated into the LED taillights, and standard 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels. They also come standard with a panoramic roof.

Power and Performance

A large SUV is typically expected to be slow. However, with a Porsche badge, speed is desired. Even the base Porsche Cayenne unleashes a steady stream of power at any double-digit speed. The Cayenne with V6 and 0-60 mph time of 5.3 seconds is impressive for a large SUV weighing over 4,700 pounds. The transmission is properly calibrated, and the brake pedal stroke is slightly longer than one would expect from a Porsche.

The base Porsche Cayenne has a combined fuel economy of 19 mpg (17 city/22 highway). The base Cayenne has a 355-hp turbo for its base V-6 level, while the 434-hp Cayenne S has an even more powerful setup owing to its twin-turbo V-6. The E-Hybrid plug-in hybrid combines an electric motor and a turbocharged V-6 that produces 455 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. The Cayenne GTS features a 460-hp twin-turbo V-8 engine with a great exhaust note and breathtaking acceleration. All engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and are all-wheel drive.

Pricing

Pricing for the Porsche Cayenne in 2022 ranges from $69,000 to $165,300. Its base Cayenne costs about $70,350, Cayenne E-Hybrid at $84,650, Cayenne S at $88,150, and Cayenne GTS at around $110,350.

CONCLUSION

A Porsche SUV was once ridiculed by critics. The impression of a sporty family shuttle imbued with 911 sports car maneuvers was as bizarre as an electric-powered Porsche. Both concepts are alive and well in the Porsche lineup today. The 2022 Cayenne expertly combines midsize luxury SUV utility with precise handling, a variety of powerful engines, and what seems like an intravenous connection to the road from the driver’s seat.

This vehicle exceeds expectations. It’s the kind of car that makes you want to drive as far and as fast as possible while conserving fuel-efficient.
