The new Bentley Continental GT Speed is the most “dynamic” road car in the company’s 101-year history, and that’s not just marketing talk. The GT Speed extracts even more power from the Continental GT’s 6.0-liter W12 engine, adds balance with all-wheel steering and advanced suspension settings, and looks sharper with updated exterior styling and all-new ‘Speed’ badging.
The monstrous 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W12 takes center stage. Now that engine pumps out 650 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque, which represents an increase of 24 horses compared to the regular Continental GT. That extra power allows the GT Speed to reach 60 mp/h in 3.5 seconds, which is 0.1 second faster than the standard model, and a top speed of 208 mp/h.
Bentley has refreshed the 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox to respond faster and more aggressively, which is especially felt in sport mode. The refreshed transmission is said to change gears twice as fast as that of the standard Continental GT. The suspension and steering have also been thoroughly reworked.
There’s a new electronic all-wheel steering function that improves agility by moving the front and rear wheels in opposite directions at moderate speeds, while at higher speeds the function is disabled due to the car’s stability. Combined with the Bentley Dynamic Ride feature and limited slip differential, Bentley says the Continental GT Speed is the most agile Continental to date.
Visually, the Continental GT Speed offers a subtly more aggressive look than the regular GT model. The grille, lower bumper air intakes, and side skirts all feature a “Dark Tint” finish that helps visually “strengthen” the exterior. A chrome “Speed” badging adorns the front bumper, and the 22-inch wheels finished in standard bright silver (with a choice of dark tint or gloss black) look great. A similarly aggressive look carries over to the cabin, with unique two-tone leather and Alcantara covering the seats and steering wheel.
Customers can choose between 15 primary and 11 secondary colors, so you can take a breather when choosing colors. The center console has a rotating central display as on the standard Continental GT model. With a price tag of $275.000, the Bentley Continental GT Speed is sure to stand out from the crowd.
